Kaimua Farm is the fulfillment of a life long dream to live whole, to live healthy and to live together.
Found among the small rolling hills of Waitoki, Auckland, Kaimua Farm is a natural sanctuary full of high quality produce grown and harvested together by three generations of food lovers. We're strong believers that good healthy food not only makes for a more vibrant lifestyle but can bring us together in a way few other things can.
Over the last five years we've lived on our plot of land allowing it to breathe before planting and harvesting the fruit she has to offer. We came from the hustle and bustle of the town life where everything is often so disconnected from the source. We used to eat because we had to and ease was key but we needed a change and that change came in the form of Kaimua Farm. Our desire for a more whole life led us out of the city to this beautiful place we call home and out here we're learning to breathe again.
Now, since 2015 we've been growing our own food and teaching our children how to follow in our footsteps. Our dream is to have a place, a nutritional sanctuary for our children's children and their friends. A place where we can learn again to take life a little slower and work a little harder to enjoy whole, tasty food.
On our farm the people, the land, the animals, trees and plants all work together in harmony to provide for our community.
We have a good sized olive grove planted with different varieties of olives from Italy, Spain,Tunisia & France to maximize flavor and diversity for the table & oil production.
In their shade our heritage sheep graze lazily feeding back into the ecosystem and producing quality lamb for our table.
We have an impressive mature macadamia grove provides delicious nuts and macadamia spread.
Finally, amidst it all are our free range heritage chickens hatching newborn chicks each month & sharing their delicious eggs.
It doesn't stop there either, what's life on the farm without a little sweetness? This year we added a family of bees to the farm to keep pollinating our plants and native bush helping us to keep New Zealand beautiful.
We use natural practices to help everything grow and flourish as it should do, ensuring the land and animals well being and resulting in tasty high quality goods.
