We have had a wonderful busy week incubating & collecting eggs for Coatesville School Ag Day. Our Roosters & hens are doing their jobs. Tomorrow we are setting off on an adventure North to add to our lovely girls.
Last night we candled our first batch of eggs that have been incubating & they are developing well. I have put in a photo so you can see the different stages of development. We are excited and somewhat overwhelmed by the enthusiast response of the families of Coatesville Primary School about our beautiful Heritage Hens.
Some good hearted folks who breed these lovely chicks and are rallying round to meet the enthusiastic order form the school. We at Kaimua Farm had not anticipated how many of you would be so keen. I will keep you posted on how we are going with our collective progress. I have collected & laid down the first batch in our incubator yesterday. |
